Parking lots never change.  Fern Creek's seems to be the same paving and striping as when we parked there.  Listen carefully and you can still hear a car driven by Judy Leichhardt, jammed with girls finishing makeup, come screeching into the lot just seconds before the final bell.  Or, check at lunch time for surreptitious goings on.  In the distance, you can see the original gymnasium on the left and the new one to its right.
The covered walkway used in all weather to gain dry access to the portables and to the locker rooms, for physical education and sports.  Notice the bricked up windows on the right, the first two adjacent to the boy's locker room, further down to the girl's.  In our time, they were jalousie windows with frosted wire glass, which were often open, allowing shower and locker room sounds to filter outside to those passing by.
The football field we knew is gone.  Remember the old track, way out back, neglected and forlorn? Today, it is Fern Creek Veterans Stadium, with impressive press box, synthetic track surface and bright lighting.  Can you hear Karmen Bush's baritone voice coming from those speakers on high?
